Minhaj-ul-Quran International was founded by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and now runs Islamic centres in more than 90 countries. Its work centres on peace, interfaith harmony, religious moderation and integration, drawing on the founder’s many books and recorded lectures.
The Victorian branch is on Faulkners Road, Mount Cottrell, west of Melbourne. It holds community events such as an annual Eid in the park, and members join national gatherings like the faith and science conference.
