Red meat exporters are a core client group for National Halal Accreditation Services Australia (NHASA), which holds an approved arrangement with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and is an Approved Islamic Organisation for export certification.
Since 2018 the body has certified meat, processed foods, beverages, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, as well as abattoirs and restaurants. Recognition comes from BPJPH in Indonesia, EGAC in Egypt and CICOT in Thailand. NHASA keeps close ties with local Muslim communities through Islamic centres and organisations, and its office is on Tresco Street, Dallas.
