Volunteers driven by their faith set up Ummah Aid to tackle poverty in developing countries, starting with the basics: clean water, food and medical treatment.
Its projects include building water wells, emergency food relief, medical aid and orphan sponsorship, with work in Somalia, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka among other places. All donations go to the project the donor chooses, as administration costs are covered from within the organisation. The charity is based in Narre Warren in Melbourne’s south-east.
Please mention that you found them on Melbourne Local Guide.
