Sufra Mandi took over Jannat Al Mandi in Coolaroo and kept the mandi the old restaurant was known for: lamb shank, lamb shoulder, half chicken or whole barramundi, set on fragrant basmati rice with plenty of nuts.
The new owners added Indian dishes, including haleem, chicken and malai tikka, hariyali kebab, curries, butter naan and chaat such as pani puri, dahi puri and samosa chaat. A Sunday dinner buffet covers biryani, butter chicken, kebabs, fried chicken and fish.
The banquet hall holds up to 300 guests, with a large stage for weddings, celebrations and corporate events.
