Salaam Village began with its founder’s horses and the change visitors went through after even a short time with them. The thinking is simple: time in nature, around animals, is good for people, and the village sets out to bring people, animals and permaculture together in one place.
The Barn, a rustic space on the property, can be hired for events. Three-hour programmes introduce farm life to students in Grades 3–6 and Years 7–9, and a custom programme can be arranged for other groups. The project names its values as mercy, strength and wisdom.
