Quba Mosque opened its doors on 12 September after a community-funded build, and is planned as a full community complex rather than a mosque alone. The prayer area holds 1,500 worshippers, including a women’s area for 500.
It’s open for all prayers and study circles, with weekly sermons. Classes in tafsir, hadith, fiqh and Quran recitation are organised for all ages, along with seminars and lectures. The imam is a marriage celebrant and can be booked for nikah, and the mosque hosts Eid celebrations. Finishing work on classrooms and other areas is still under way.
