Peshawri cooks the food of Peshawar in Pakistan’s north-west. The signature smoked lamb karahi is slow-cooked in a kadai, an iron wok, with tomatoes, green chillies and a smoky finish, and chicken karahi is made the same way with paprika, cardamom and coriander.
Lamb shank pulao, basmati rice cooked with whole spices and tender meat, is the other dish to order. This branch is on Bonwick Street in Fawkner, in Melbourne’s north.
