Before coming to Melbourne, the family behind Persian Kebab House spent years running restaurants in Iran. At Tunstall Square in Doncaster East, an experienced Persian chef leads the kitchen, and kebabs are the specialty: koobideh, barg lamb fillet, lamb cutlet, chenjeh and saffron chicken.
Stews such as ghormeh sabzi, gheymeh and fesenjan come with rice, and starters include kashk-e bademjan and mirza ghasemi. For a celebration there is the one-metre Century Feast platter. Finish with saffron ice cream, sholeh zard or faloodeh, with tea or doogh.
