Iranian migrants opened Persian Halal Butchery & Grocery to bring a taste of Iran to Melbourne, and the Jackson Court shop in Doncaster East is one of two, the other being in Box Hill North. The butcher counter sells halal meat, with marinated lines such as lamb kobideh mince.
The grocery side stocks Persian, Pakistani and Indian staples: spices, grains, dairy, sweets, pickles, nuts, beans and juices. The owners, the Persian Najib Group, also run the Persian Halal Restaurant with a business partner.
