National Zakat Foundation exists to keep zakat local. It collects zakat from Australian Muslims and distributes it to eligible recipients around the country: single mothers fleeing domestic violence, families living with disability or chronic illness, people out of work and others facing hardship.
Donors can work out what they owe with its zakat calculator, book a consultation and read its guides on zakat. Applications for help come in from across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, and donations are tax deductible.
