Nasiba Tarneit

Nasiba’s western suburbs store is inside Wyndham Village Shopping Centre on Sayers Road. The label traces back to the early 1970s, when Amne and Hussein, newly arrived in Australia, began sewing Islamic dresses and hijabs from leftover fabric at the sewing company where they worked. Nasiba itself was founded in 1993, its name honouring Nusaybah bint Ka’ab, and is now led by their three daughters.

The shelves hold hijabs in chiffon, modal and jersey, abayas, modest dresses, linen shirts and trousers, coats and prayer sets. The Mahabba collection honours Amne, with part of each sale going to a charity fund set up in her memory.
