Ryrie Street was where Kaan Aktas opened the first Geelong Mustafa’s Kebabs about twelve years ago, after moving down from Shepparton. The business was started there by his father, Mustafa, who gave up tomato farming to sell kebabs.
The menu centres on flame-grilled Turkish kebabs and garlic-sauce wraps, with the bread baked and the meat marinated on site. There are now also stores on Pakington Street and in Lara.
