Modesty Hut began in 2018, when founder Melissa’s husband brought home a 30kg suitcase of hijabs from Turkey. The hobby grew into a garage showroom in Cranbourne, a mobile boutique and an online store that delivers across Australia.
The focus now is on ethically made hijabs. The Providence collection uses biodegradable modal dyed with plant-based colour, opaque enough to wear without an underlayer, while the Felicity range has a light slub texture. There’s also Grace, an extra-large jersey shawl, plus slip-on hijabs, jersey sets, bamboo ninja caps, hijab magnets, natural soaps and gift hampers. The showroom opens by appointment.
