Miilk Cake Studio traces its roots to Tong Ann Bakery, a family business opened in Bukit Timah, Singapore, in 1950. The Swanston Street shop draws on Singaporean family recipes, with pandan from Singapore, ube from the Philippines and organic hojicha from Japan.
Look for mango and pandan cakes, Japanese cotton cheesecake and lychee and strawberry cake, sold whole in three sizes, as cupcakes or in dessert boxes. Custom cakes and catering can be ordered, and homemade cookies and pineapple tarts sit beside coffee, lattes, milkshakes and teas.
