Bakso, Indonesia’s much-loved meatball soup, is what Meetbowl does. The word comes from the Hokkien “bah-so”, meaning fluffy meat, and in Indonesia the dish is sold everywhere from street carts to big chains.
Meetbowl was founded in 2005 by international students missing home cooking, and what began as a cooking project became a restaurant at 95 York Street. The meatballs are made by hand every day and served in broth with noodles, and the bowls are a warming choice on a cold Melbourne day.
