Masjid Nabi Akram is the mosque of Shepparton’s Afghan community. It has hosted the region’s Cultural Bus Tour, where a member of the mosque spoke about the Afghan community in Shepparton, the place of Islam in its life and the building of the mosque, and the men of the community served visitors a lunch of traditional Afghan food.
