Mandina Kitchen

mandinakitchen.com.au

Mandina first opened in Yemen in the 1970s, and its Melbourne restaurants bring the same cooking to Victoria: this one on Lygon Street, and a second in Campbellfield. Mandi is the dish to order, smoky, aromatic rice topped with meat or chicken and served with sahawiq, a ground salsa of chilli, tomato, garlic and herbs.

Portions are generous, and chops and fresh fish are on the menu as well. Party platters can be ordered for birthdays, office lunches and events, with a day’s notice for 10 or more people and two days for 50 or more.
