Dannaoui took over this Sydney Road meat shop in March 1995 and turned it into a halal specialist. It has since grown into the Madina business, with a poultry factory in Laverton, a wholesale centre in Coburg North and several branches across Melbourne.
The Brunswick shop has a wider frontage than most, with one display cabinet for beef and lamb, another for chicken and offal, and a separate area for groceries and smallgoods. Goat, sausages, burgers and frozen lines are also sold.
