Uyghur cooking from China’s far north-west is the focus at Karlaylisi, now in larger premises on Ashley Street, Braybrook. Wheat dough is kneaded and pulled by hand each day for läghmän noodles, and the house dry noodles come stir-fried with lamb and vegetables.
Big plate chicken and cumin lamb ribs are popular for sharing, with boiled dumplings, meat pastries and grilled skewers on the side. The dining room has space for large family groups.
