A small group of families formed ISOMER to serve Muslims across Melbourne’s south-east regardless of ethnic background. After years of fundraising they bought land in Lysterfield, and the mosque opened in 1986.
A government grant in 1992 led to the ISOMER aged care home, which opened in 1994 and welcomes residents of every faith. It has 50 single rooms with ensuites, gardens and a courtyard. The society also runs a community hall for events and provides janaza services for families.
Please mention that you found them on Melbourne Local Guide.
