Fitra Community School was founded by Saadia Amnulla and Adel Mohamed after hearing from parents whose children had become disillusioned with school. Their answer is a deliberately small primary school on Westall Road in Clayton South, designed so that each child’s education can be individualised.
Students work at their own pace towards mastery in literacy and numeracy, with an emphasis on self-directed learning, creative thinking, problem-solving and communication. Islam is treated as part of the school’s lifestyle rather than just a subject. School tours can be booked.
