Persian kebab skewers are the backbone of Fattie Prince, marinated overnight and grilled in the restaurant on Swanston Street, Carlton. The choice runs from koobideh (minced beef and lamb) and soltani to joojeh chicken, a mixed grill, slow-cooked lamb shank and Prince’s Shishlik, made with Australian lamb and served with fresh salads.
Turkish-style wraps and custom burgers are also made by hand to order. Recipes come from the chef, known as Faty, and are tasted by chefs from Iran and Azerbaijan. It’s close to RMIT and the University of Melbourne, which suits a student lunch.
