Andre and Carole Estephan opened the first El Jannah in Granville, Western Sydney, in 1998, turning the flavours of Andre’s childhood village in Lebanon into a charcoal chicken recipe. The Ivanhoe shop on Upper Heidelberg Road cooks that same chicken over the pit and serves it with toum, the chain’s garlic sauce.
Fried chicken breaded by hand, falafel, chips and a choice of dips round out the menu. There’s onsite parking in front of the store, and Heidelberg, Eaglemont and Alphington are only a few minutes’ drive away. Eat in, take away, order delivery or book catering.
