Dandenong Islamic Centre

Also known as the Albanian Sakie Islamic Centre, this mosque at 10-12 Dalgety Street was opened in 1985 by the Albanian Sakie Islamic Society of Dandenong. Its founders were Albanian families from the village of Kišava in North Macedonia, who began settling in Dandenong in the early 1960s.

The congregation is mostly Albanian, with Turkish, Afghan and other Muslims also attending, and sermons are mainly in Albanian with some English. Alongside daily prayers, the mosque runs a Sunday school and holds weddings, funerals and circumcisions. The building, with its minaret, sits beside Dandenong Creek and has parking on site.
