Harun Yalcin was a tour guide in Cappadocia before moving to Melbourne, where he couldn’t find the künefe and stretchy dondurma he missed from home. He started Cuppa Turca in 2017 to make them himself.
The künefe is cooked to order with shredded pastry, a custom sweet cheese, Antep pistachios and a sugar syrup without additives. The dondurma is chewy Maraş-style ice cream made with around 70% goat’s milk, in a range of flavours plus vegan options. The Campbellfield shop is on Merola Way.
