Steph Matar and Ibrahim Khodr founded 85 Espresso, and their Spotswood café has a warm, rustic feel and a strong crowd of regulars. The signature dish is Knefeh French toast, a Middle Eastern take on the classic, with brioche, sweet cheese, vanilla ice cream, mixed berries and rose water syrup. The açai bowl is another favourite.
The café is on Hudsons Road, Spotswood’s small shopping street near the station and Scienceworks.
